Columbus Thorn Running Club

Friday, September 25 2020

We are proud to introduce the Columbus Thorn Running Club!  Columbus Thorn was created in order to serve two purposes for CNXC.  Columbus Thorn will act as the club team for our off-season running and racing teams that compete in events like Nike and Footlocker National Championships in Cross Country in the fall and USATF/AAU/New Balance Cross Country and Track & Field meets year-around.  Columbus Thorn is also a tax-deductible 509(a)(2) and will serve as a booster club to financially support our school teams and club teams.

This is a major step in our ability to reach and maintain a state and national-level distance running program at Columbus North High School.  Through the Columbus Thorn Running Club, we can organize youth programs in Columbus that compete in various meets during the year, support programs in the community to raise awareness of youth running, and develop a foundation to carry on the program for years.  Forming the Columbus Thorn Running Club puts us in the same category to accomplish goals as the best teams in the country.

We would like thank Sara Jacobi, Abby's mom, and Blue and Co. for their help in getting us started.  Her help was instrumental in getting this off the ground. We will be announcing our Board of Directors soon and our Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 plans soon!

If you would like to donate to the Columbus Thorn Running Club, please contact Coach Sluder at sluderr@bcsc.k12.in.us for details.  We will be setting up easier ways to donate very soon.
