Four CNXC Members Named Academic All-State

Thursday, October 15 2020

Four CNXC team members were named Academic All-State by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches today.  Abby Jacobi and Katherine Rumsey were both named First Team Academic All-State while Mackenzie Barnett and Aric Tong were added to the Honorable Mention team.

This is a great honor for all four runners and is based upon both their academic and athletic performances.  The athletic qualifications include being listed on the IHSAA tournament roster and while the academic qualifications are based upon factors like GPA and standardized test scores.

"We are very proud of these four athletes for their commitment to both athletics AND academics.  We take serious pride in the fact our girls are student-athletes.  We do not have to push academics on our roster.  Our girls simply expect the best out themselves in all arenas of school- we believe that if you can run 8 miles in the summer, studying and completing your work to high expectations is also easily achievable."

Congratulations to Abby, Katherine, Mackenzie and Aric!
