The new exam will be available in English only. Translated versions of the previous exam will remain available after July 21, 2025. We’ll announce launch dates for translated versions of the new exam as soon as they’re ready.

  • Passing Score

Upon completion of a certification exam, IIBA provides you with performance indicators rather than traditional scores or scoring percentages. This is common practice in the professional credentialing industry and is intended to help you target gaps and set goals for performance improvement.

  • Structure

50 situation-based and standard multiple-choice questions focused on the practical application and understanding of job-ready competencies at the foundational level in business analysis.

    Here’s what to expect:

      • A reflection of real-world business analysis tasks and challenges
      •
      • Practical application and analytical thinking through situation-based questions
      •

    Examples:

    • Exam questions requiring you to apply the Business Analysis Core Competency Model (BACCM) to different contexts, instead of just defining its concepts
    •
    • Questions requiring you to identify the most relevant stakeholder for a given situation, instead of asking you to define a stakeholder
    •
    • Questions requiring you to determine the best elicitation method for a specific challenge within an initiative, instead of defining elicitation techniques
